Week 2 on I'm A Celebrity...

The second week of I’m A Celeb, the jungle has already delivered plenty of drama, creepy critters, and budding friendships. Here’s a quick recap to catch you up on everything you might have missed! 

Friday 22nd November – Episode 6 

Maura Higgins, Dean McCullough, and Danny Jones take on the High Street of Horrors trial, with the junkyard campmates pretending they’ve done it before to throw off Dean and Danny. Determined not to quit, Dean powers through as the team secures eight impressive stars. 

Afterwards, Maura chooses Dean to join her in the “junkyard,” he’s thrilled to discover it’s a luxury hideaway. The secret mission continues successfully, but back in the main camp, Coleen begins to suspect something isn’t quite right. 

Saturday 23rd November – Episode 7 

The main camp grew suspicious of the Jungle Junkyard trio, who kept up their fake struggles until their secret luxuries were exposed in a trial. Despite the drama, the trio redeemed themselves by facing a tough eating challenge, securing a massive junk food buffet for everyone. After joining the camp, bed arrangements and chores led to some tension. Still, the camp ended the day on a high note whilst they enjoyed their burgers and pizza.  

Sunday 24th November – Episode 8 

The Junkyard crew started their first morning in the main camp, with Maura improvising an eye mask. Coleen shared a few funny stories, while Maura recounted her fiery pre-Love Island revenge on an ex. Later, two celebs faced a blindfolded car challenge to win dingo dollars, winning sweets for the camp. 

Dean and Coleen impressed in a tough Bushtucker trial, earning 9 stars despite creepy crawlies and fish guts. The camp were able to have a hearty meal as two campmates stepped up as chefs. Meanwhile, Danny and Barry became camp leaders and assigned everyone chores, though Jane wasn’t thrilled about being tasked with washing up, leading to some confusion and tension. 

Overall, the day went well and new dynamics are unfolding, the group bonded over their successes and shared stories. 

Monday 25th November – Episode 9 

It was a special day in camp, as it was Maura’s 34th birthday. Waking up in the jungle, she stated: “Birthday in the jungle! This is definitely going to be one I will never, ever forget.” 

Meanwhile, Dean faced his sixth Bushtucker Trial, "Jack and the Scream Stalk." With 12 minutes to climb a beanstalk, collect stars, assemble a golden egg, and retrieve more stars inside a castle, all while dealing with the green ants, cockroaches, giant mealworms, and spiders, Dean successfully brought back 10 stars for camp. 

After dinner, the campmates faced a spooky challenge called "The Fright Bus," where they came face to face with creepy crawlies and worked in teams to move tokens to win luggage with treats. Maura, sitting at the back, had the longest ride, as the bus stopped four times and screams could be heard all over the jungle! 

Tuesday 26th November – Episode 10 

The Fright Bus continued its nighttime journey, making four stops along the way. At each stop, a couple of celebrities disembarked, using their tokens to claim their luggage. Back at camp, they excitedly opened their bags. Inside, they found a mix of treats: Maltesers, popcorn, a disposable camera, and even a guitar. However, birthday girl Maura's surprise was a single apple, she was far from pleased. 

Later, two celebs tackled the "Fright at the End of the Tunnel" trial. The challenge involved two tunnels: one above ground and one below ground, submerged in water. The celebrity above ground had to locate secret code words and shout them down to their partner, who used them to unlock stars. As expected, they weren’t alone and shared the space with toads, lizards, and spiders. It was a very tough trial, but they still managed to secure 6 stars for camp.  

To celebrate their success, the campmates enjoyed a dinner of mud crabs, which turned out to be a hit with everyone! 

Wednesday 27th November – Episode 11 

In Wednesday’s episode, one brave celebrity faced the nerve-wracking challenge, of Shock Around the Clock. Strapped to the second hand of a massive rotating clock, she spun through a swarm of critters while racing to collect 12 stars. Each star came with a twist, she had to name 12 items within a given category in just 12 seconds.  In the end, she secured 5 stars, earning some much-needed meals for camp. 

Meanwhile, tensions rose as Dean continued to avoid his duties, once again disappearing when it was time to fetch water. To make matters worse, an uninvited guest scurried into camp, drawn by scraps of last night’s dinner left behind. The drama in camp is heating up! 

Thursday 28th November – Episode 11 

Thursday’s episode was packed with drama. Dean continued dodging his responsibility of collecting water, Maura accidentally threw away the camp's precious rice and beans, and Oti struggled with homesickness, missing her loved ones. 

The tension eased briefly as three celebrities took on The Rank Bank challenge. Competing in four messy races, they had to use their mouths to squeeze juice from fisheyes and retrieve items from their deposit boxes. In the end, the blue team won, earning $1,100, while the pink and orange teams tied with $500 each. 

The camp got excited when the treat machine opened for business! Later, the team leaders left camp to pick up dinner but were careful to not waste all their hard-earned cash!
