This Week on I'm A Celebrity...

The first week of I’m A Celebrity 2024 was a wild one! With plenty of snakes, critters and juicy trials, as well as some very memorable moments. If you missed some episodes, don’t worry. We have recapped them below.

Sunday 17th November - Episode 1:  

Ten celebrities competed in a race to become the first camp leaders, earning the privilege of staying in the Leaders’ Lodge and exemption from the first Bushtucker trial. The red team won after challenges that included skydiving, horrid cocktails made of vomit fruit and fisheyes, searching for keys in hell holes with critters, and navigating rivers in canal boats, with one boat sinking. 

In the first camp challenge, Danny and Barry faced the 'Mausoleum of Misery,' locked in separate chambers with five stars each to collect, surrounded by 15 snakes. Five stars were secured for camp. During the trial, Danny shouted, "I’ve got a snake up my shorts," prompting an animal handler to remove it once the trial was complete. 

The campmates received their first meal of kangaroo hind, and the next camp mate was chosen in the first public vote to participate in the next Bushtucker Trial. 

Monday 18th November - Episode 2: 

The next celeb took on the intense Bushtucker trial, ‘Vile Volcano’. With just 10 minutes to collect 10 stars, she faced plenty of jungle critters, including snakes, huntsman spiders, and even crocodiles. After lots of screams and motivational quotes from the shows hosts, she delivered an impressive performance, securing 9 stars for camp! 

Back at camp, emotions ran high as Coleen Rooney opened up about her court case and Barry McGuigan broke down as he reflected on the devastating loss of his daughter to bowel cancer. 

But later on, spirits were lifted with a marshmallow feast which was earned during the Dingo Dollar challenge. But the drama continues, as Dean has been voted to face the next trial: The Sinister Sarcophagus.

Tuesday 19th November - Episode 3: 

In Tuesday’s episode, the celebs were assigned chores to the campmates, but some were far from thrilled with their new roles—washing up and camp maintenance. 

During the latest Bushtucker Trial, Dean faced a tough challenge: answering Egyptian-themed questions and retrieving stars with his mouth in a confined space. Struggling with the task, he eventually shouted the famous words, “I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!” after managing to secure just two stars. 

Later in the show, some of the camp mates teamed up for a challenge to win the campmates' luxury items, chosen by their loved ones. Unfortunately, they failed to secure Jane and Barry’s items. Some of the luxuries included a dressing gown, an inflatable chair, moisturiser, and Bon Jovi music, which Oti was told she could play three times. 

Dean and one other celeb have been chosen once again for the next trial, Drown in the Dumps. Given their reactions in previous challenges, viewers can expect plenty of screams!

Wednesday 20th November - Episode 4: 

Wednesday’s episode stirred things up as the campmates woke to rain and there were a few surprising confessions about skipping showers. Coleen proudly declared herself the only one staying clean. 

Two celebs tackle the Bushtucker Trial, Drown in the Dumps, with high hopes but face a tough challenge involving keys, rising water, and eels. Despite their efforts and battling their fears, they fail to unlock any stars. Returning to camp empty-handed. 

The episode also delved deeper into the celebs' lives, with crushes revealed, anxieties shared, and bonds strengthened as campmates opened up to one another. To top it off, two new arrivals are revealed including Maura Higgins who previously starred in Love Island UK.

Thursday 21s November - Episode 5: 

In Thursday’s episode of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, Dean faced his fears in the Bushtucker trial - Lethal Lab. The celebs are desperate for stars after a night of rice & beans. Dean manages to secure 4 stars for camp but shouts ‘I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!’ over fish guts. However, the other campmates still give him a hero’s welcome.  

Meanwhile, two new celebrities joined the adventure, arriving at what first seemed like a rough camp. Their disappointment quickly turned to delight when they discovered it was actually a luxury setup! However, their stay came with a twist. They were given a secret mission, to deceive the main camp by pretending they were suffering and living in rough conditions. While the other campmates assigned them chores, the new arrivals were secretly enjoying their little paradise.  

Amid all the drama, the main camp faced punishment after being caught smuggling tea contraband. As a punishment, they lost half of their hard-earned cupcakes from the challenge, leaving everyone disappointed.
