The Best Day To Be Born

22/03/2024

How many of us sneak a peek at our horoscope in the morning paper? Whether we believe in astrology or not? Or do you have ‘lucky’ numbers that you always look out for on your bingo card or play the lottery with?

tombola have discovered that there are certain birth dates or months that indicate you’ll have more success in the world of politics. There are others that signify you might just become a Nobel prize winner and more still where you have a higher chance of being a millionaire!

So, we collated the birthdays of thriving people across business, TV, film, music, philanthropy, sport and more. From this we’ve been able to determine what days indicate the likelihood of triumph in each category.

We’ve also looked at the birthdays that signal the most success within each month as well as working out the top day across the whole year.

Read on to discover the best day to be born.

6th June Is The Best Day To Be Born for Success

For the best chance of overall success, 6th June is the optimum date to be born. This was devised by looking at 1,753 birthdays of successful people across 14 different categories. More birthdays fell on the 6th June than any other day of the year.

If you were born on 6th June, you share your birthday with:

Billionaire Graeme Hart. The New Zealand businessman amassed his fortune using leveraged buyouts and deals mainly in packaging companies including ones that make cartons for brands like V8, Ocean Spray and Dole.

Nobel Prize Winner Thomas Mann. Also known as Paul Thomas Mann, this German writer won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1929. His work is noted for its insight into the psychology of the artist and the intellectual.

Other birthdays of note include former no. 1 world tennis player Bjorn Borg, Grammy Award nominated rapper Vic Mensa and English actor and producer Jason Isaacs, probably best known for his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.

Billion Dollar Babies Are Born In October

If your dream is financial success then being born in October gives you a headstart and our research shows that the being born on the 13th gives you the most advantage.

If you’re born in October you share your birthday with Microsoft creator, billionaire and philanthropist, Bill Gates.

And the Best Actor Award Goes To...Those Born on the 13th April

Male Oscar winners up for the Best Actor in a Lead Role award are more likely to win if they’re born in April. 17% of those who have won the award since its first iteration in 1929, have April birthdays. For women up for the Best Actress in a Lead role, 19th June is the optimum day, with 12% of birthdays happening in June.

For UK TV, whether you’re male or female, the overall best month for success is May. You have a 1 in 6 chance of winning a Best Actress or Best Actor BAFTA. For Emmy Awards you have a 1 in 8 chance if you’re born in August.

May or October are Top of the Pops

If you desperately want a Grammy, the 19th May is your best bet for stardom. Past winners born in this month include Lauren Hill, Stevie Wonder, Adele and Billy Joel. Or you can bag a Mercury Prize by being born on 17th October. Previous recipients P J Harvey and Badly Drawn Boy were born in this month.

It’s All Business For February and May Births

According to our research 4th February is the best day to be born for entrepreneurs, but with a closer proximity to Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day, it’s possibly better to be born in on 12th May.

Those born in February include Dragon’s Den favourite Duncan Bannatyne and founder of Lastminute.com, Baroness Martha Lane Fox. May boasts the birthdays of Sir James Dyson, creator of the Dyson vacuum as well as BrewDog co-owner James Watt and founder of Moonpig, the personalised greeting card website, Nick Jenkins.

You Only Get What You Give?

Some of those who have been financially successful choose to give back. Their philanthropic ways help to fund other organisations including charitable ventures. The best month to be born for philanthropic success is May.

The philanthropists in our research, born in May, have donated billions of pounds and include U2 front man, Bono, Hollywood royalty George Clooney, 80s icon Mr. T and the man behind Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

There are also those who, in the application of their talents are able to affect many thousands, millions, even billions of people across the globe. Whether it’s science, literature, art or the pursuit of peace, the Nobel Prize awards the efforts of these individuals. If you hope to add your name to this list of notable people, you need to be born in June.

There are a staggering 88 Nobel Prize winners within this month, compared to lowest amount of 58 in February.
