Week 3 on I'm A Celebrity...
05/12/2024
This week on I’m A Celebrity, the journey to the final heated up as six celebrities were voted out of the jungle. Here’s your weekly recap:
Friday 29th December – Episode 12
The campmates find creative ways to save their hard-earned money, from skipping showers to cutting back on water use. They’ve also shared some personal stories, some even involving the royal family!
Meanwhile, two celebrities took on the ‘Tanks of Torture’ trial, a true test of teamwork and bravery. Submerged in tanks filled with eels, they had to pass stars to each other while critters crawled inside their helmets. With the clock ticking and just 5 seconds left, they managed to stay calm under pressure and secured 12 stars for the camp!
The camp enjoyed a feast featuring chocolate cake and biscuits. But the celebration was bittersweet, as they also discovered that the public has been voting to save their favourite campmate.
Saturday 30th December – Episode 13
Jane became the first campmate to leave the jungle. After an emotional farewell, the remaining celebrities reflected on her departure, calling her the glue that held the camp together.
Next up was the Bushtucker Trial, ‘Jungle TV Dinners’. Two celebs were required to browse a streaming service, Jungle on Demand, and select shows they fancied. They then got served dishes related to that show. Each dish they consumed earned a star for the camp. Despite some tearful moments, they powered through and secured an impressive 11 stars.
Later, the camp elected two new team leaders through a secret ballot and new chores were assigned. But with 11 campmates, someone had to take on extra work, and that someone was Danny.
Sunday 1st December – Episode 14
After dinner, the campmates gathered around the fire for an emotional evening as they read heartfelt letters from home.
Later, they learned about the next Bushtucker Trial, ‘Spiraling Out of Control’, and had to decide who would take it on. Barry eagerly volunteered, determined to nail this challenge. Strapped to a massive spinning wheel, he had to toss balls into hatches as they opened. Each successful throw earned a star for camp. Of course, the trial came with the usual critters to make things more difficult.
Barry started off slow but soon found his rhythm, scoring an impressive 10 out of 11 stars for camp!
Monday 2nd December – Episode 15
The camp had some unwelcome visitors overnight this time, a mouse made its way across the kitchen, climbing over utensils and dishes.
Meanwhile, two brave celebrities faced the Farmyard of Fear. Their mission was to transport creepy crawlies from the sinister silo above into a wheelbarrow down on the jungle floor. Once the wheelbarrow was loaded, it was Coleen’s turn to carry the ‘jungle nasties’ to the scales. The more weight they added, the more meals they earned for camp. The pair crushed the challenge, securing all 10 stars! But they told their campmates they’d only managed to win two, setting up a delightful dinner surprise later.
Back at camp, the group swapped stories about their love lives, and four celebrities then teamed up for a challenge called The Pen is Stationary. They aced the game and won the dingo dollars but unfortunately lost their luck at the quiz. A wrong answer meant they missed out on the delicious strawberry pencil sweets.
The episode ended with another celebrity sadly being voted out, leaving the camp one member short.
Tuesday 3rd December – Episode 16
In Tuesday’s episode, Oti faced the "Sinister Sarcophagus" challenge, the same Bushtucker Trial that Dean failed to do during his first week, famously shouting, “I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!”.
Locked inside a mummy sarcophagus, Oti had to tackle a series of Egypt-themed questions. For each correct answer, a star was dropped into the chamber, which she then had to retrieve using only her mouth, all within a nerve-wracking 30 seconds. As her headgear filled with an increasing number of creepy critters, Oti remained impressively calm, ultimately securing 8 out of 9 stars!
Later in the episode, the campmates opened up about the challenges of fame. Coleen shared how her husband gets mobbed at their kids’ football matches, while Danny recounted stories of fans chasing his car and pounding on the windows.
The evening took a surprising turn when the camp received an unexpected invitation to the Jungle Arms. Speculating on what tasks might await them, the celebs got excited at the prospect of kicking back with a well-deserved alcoholic treat.
Wednesday 4th December – Episode 17
After a lively night at the Jungle Arms, the campmates woke up feeling a bit worse for wear. Despite this, their spirits were high as they reminisced about the fun-filled evening.
The hosts announced the fourth celebrity to be voted off. With cheers and applause, the group warmly sent them off as they crossed the iconic bridge.
In a surprising twist, the hosts returned to camp with exciting news: over the next two days, the campmates would battle it out for a ticket to the Cyclone challenge. This ticket came with immunity from the next two eliminations. The group was split into two teams of four and took on the trial, ‘Arcade of Agony’, with two winners from each team advancing to the final round.
Later in the episode, the tension ramped up as the hosts revealed which celebrities had secured their spot in the final for a chance at Cyclone.
Thursday 5th December – Episode 18
The race to win a ticket to Cyclone heated up as Danny, Maura, Oti, and Coleen faced ‘Battle Blocks’. Each finalist was assigned a play area containing ten battle blocks, which they had to locate, remove, and arrange into a perfect rectangle on a grid in front of them. The first to complete their puzzle and hit the golden buzzer would secure a ticket.
Oti had a unique strategy, spreading all her blocks out on the floor like a puzzle before placing them. Her clever approach paid off, allowing her to press the golden buzzer and win!
Meanwhile, four other celebrities took on the Face Invaders challenge to earn stars for camp. Each contestant entered a giant game console, where they hit buttons to fill their power bars while being showered with critters. The faster they powered up, the more stars they earned. Together, they secured eight out of ten stars for camp!
Thursday’s drama didn’t stop there. In a surprise double elimination, the hosts revealed the fifth and sixth celebrities to leave the jungle.
