Our twelve Best Friend of the Year competition finalists have all been selected, and to celebrate, we thought we’d tell you a little more about each pair of besties. This time, we take a look at what makes Wendy and Mandy’s friendship so special.
Wendy and Mandy first met when they were working together in Nottingham 12 years ago. They hit it off instantly, and have remained firm friends ever since, heading off here, there and everywhere in one another’s company. Mandy even treated Wendy to a well-deserved break in Lanzarote, so to say thank you, Wendy entered her partner in crime into the Britain’s Best Friend of the Year competition. Wendy describes Mandy as one in a million: a true best friend.
We spoke to Wendy to find out more about why she decided to nominate Mandy for the award. She told us:
“I couldn’t have thought of a better way to say thank you to Mandy, except for this! Mandy’s really chuffed that I took the time to do this for her: she’s made up. I never thought in a million years that we’d be finalists, it’s such a nice surprise!”
Wendy and Mandy will be whisked off to London on National Best Friend’s Day on 8 June, to attend the Loose Women luncheon with our other Best Friend of the Year finalists. It is here that the overall winner will be announced, so until then, check back in with tombola times to read more about our other 12 finalists.
