The finalists have now been selected for the Best Friend of the Year competition! Each day we’ll be telling you a little more about each pair of winners. Today, we find out why Cara and Dianne are such great friends.
Cara and Dianne first met more than eight years ago, when their children both attended Curledge Street Academy in Torbay, Devon. Since then, both have lost their mums – and provided one another with invaluable emotional support through such difficult times. When Cara lost everything in a house fire just last year, Dianne did everything she could to help her best friend get back on her feet. Despite Dianne now living in Somerset, the pair speak every day and still see each other regularly. Cara says the fact that Dianne is “one in a million” is the reason why she nominated her friend.
Cara couldn’t believe that she and Dianne had made it to the final. She told us:
“It’s amazing to be shortlisted! I was so shocked to be chosen, but really thrilled. We’re both really looking forward to our trip down to London!”
Cara and Dianne will be one of 12 pairs of finalists in attendance at the winners’ Loose Women luncheon on National Best Friend Day, on 8 June 2015.
