Lisa Staples, 30, from Sunderland, has worked for tombola.co.uk,
one of the UK’s most popular online bingo sites for two years.
As customer service operator she deals with a range of duties
including customer wins, queries and technical advice.
1pm- My working day at tombola.co.uk is 4pm until 10pm and I work from my computer at home. This has many benefits such as I do not have to commute to work or rush around choosing an outfit! My husband arrives home from work and we have some lunch together.
4pm- I log onto the computer. My role in customer services means that I have to deal with phone calls from players or customers. Depending on how busy my shift is I can receive one call every 30 seconds, on a quieter night they drop to approximately one call every ten minutes. I receive my first phone call and the customer wants to change their online screen name, this is the more technical side of things that I deal with.
5pm- The phone rings and a very excited lady asks for my
advice on how to cash her £20,000 jackpot prize that she
has just won on our exclusive game Cinco on tombola.co.uk!
I congratulate her and give her all the information on
the best way to do this, another happy player!
6pm- tombola.co.uk has 40 moderated
chat rooms, which are a great way to socialise and have
fun when playing. I have had two more happy callers this
hour, one player has won £4,000 and another has won £5,000.
It puts a smile on your face when people win!
7pm- tombola.co.uk offer a range of games online such as
Bingo 90, Bingo 80, Bingo 75 and the recent addition Bingo
Lite, which has been very popular with our players as tickets
are available from only 2p. The website counts all the
people who are logged on and playing at www.tombola.co.uk,
at the moment there are around 1,680 players – which is
a lot higher than many other online bingo sites.
8pm- In this hour I have dealt with 11 callers, I have given
advice to one gentleman on how to claim his free £5 voucher for new players. tombola.co.uk has a range of games to choose from such as Cinco, Battleships, Hamster Race, Roller-Coaster and Bandit! and free games too – which
frequently change to keep the games fun for players. I
am currently doing a diploma in criminology so this role
allows me to be flexible and carry on my education whilst
still enjoying my job.
9pm- I send out a few emails and then the phone rings again.
A lady wants to become a member of tombola.co.uk and doesn’t use the internet much so wasn’t
sure how to register. So I go through each step and explain
how to register; it is really easy and takes about 5 minutes.
I enjoy answering the few calls we receive from customers
who want help on issues like this as they are always friendly
and thankful for the advice, she comments on how she saw
the television advert for tombola and loves the song!
10pm- I log off the computer after an interesting shift
at work. Since I have started work at tombola.co.uk I
have met so many people and have made many good friends,
we enjoy socialising together and so I am off to my colleague’s house tonight for a quick drink. As tombola.co.uk say ‘the
fun goes on and on!
