An online bingo player from Newton Aycliffe has been
announced as the winner of tombola.co.uk's competition
to win a dream holiday to Mauritius.
Terrix Melville will shortly be jetting off to the golden shores of Mauritius for what she says will be her honeymoon and her second holiday paid for by tombola.co.uk, now officially the UK’s most popular online bingo site.
The mother of three, described the night she won:
Fifty-two year old Terrix, who was one of 8,000 hopefuls to enter the draw, won the competition by successfully guessing the location of the current tombola.co.uk television advertisements which were filmed on the idyllic shores of Mauritius. She said:
“I saw the competition to win a holiday to the location of the recent tombola.co.uk adverts and I just had to enter. The island didn’t look like Hawaii or the Maldives, so I took a guess at Mauritius. I have seen the tombola adverts a few times and thought I’d love to go there, but never in a million years did I think that I would get the opportunity to go somewhere so exotic!”
Terrix, a call centre team manager, was at work when she received the news from tombola. She was over the moon and the first thing she did when she received the news was ring her husband of three years and partner of 21 years, Raymond. She said:
“Instead of having a honeymoon, Raymond and I were married in Las Vegas with friends and family. Our tombola holiday will be our honeymoon, albeit a late one! We have a year to take the holiday so we’ll probably go for my birthday in February, which falls just after Valentine’s Day. The last month of winter, we’ll leave behind the biting cold and dark days for a week of warm sunshine, blue skies and walking hand in hand along the golden sands of a beautiful tropical island. It’s a dream come true.”
