Day 2 of TV shoot - posted Wednesday 29th July
One down, three to go. Got up so early this morning it was still dark, took photo to prove it and bumped into the deck chair outside while taking the shot and now I’ve got a bruise and cut on my leg, boo, darn chair.
It’s been nonstop action all day! We were quite worried about the weather last night, but it looked promising this morning.
We were filming the boat bringing our new players to the tombola island this morning, was great fun. A couple of the extra’s (players!) felt sea sick because the boat had to speed and turn into the shore a few times. Ooops. We then had staff getting soaked up to their thighs in cool ocean water, you’ll see why in just a few weeks.
We then moved on in the afternoon from the ‘arrivals’ advert to the ‘backing singer’ which was to be set on the beach at sunset. Things were looking good but suddenly we had torrential rain, all the electrical kit (and actors) had to be covered, so basically the whole set!
The clouds were dark grey and horrid, this lasted much longer than the previous showers (typical). We were worried the ad would be lost...it was pretty important that we got the ad today as we won’t have an option to film this a different night as the schedule is so tight.
After watching the rain and wishing it away, we finally saw blue skies again on the horizon, thank goodness! When we filmed, it was just perfect, the clouds had vanished and we got the sunset!
Good stuff, two of the four ads done and ready for editing. Tomorrow brings a lot more travelling around the island to get to ‘just the right locations’. Early night tonight again then!
